The Ladybug Incident

Updated: Dec 8, 2021

I have never been really convinced Ladybugs' are actually real. It my sound outlandish to you, or plain just stupid, yet I have never seen a Ladybug in real life that I can remember. To just fuel my conspiracy theory that they do not really exist I was seeing a lot of odd, which I thought edited photo's of the little elusive bug.

Then I moved to Arnot, and just before winter 2021 my theory was debunked as well as in such a Big Bang moment, it left me speechless and feeling very small suddenly that something so perfect and cute does really exist. My kids were visiting from the city for the weekend and my son and I went for a walk around the neighborhood. I want to mention here that a "walk" refers to we walk around the block to the park and collect plants for my garden or for them to take home if they want to. You do not live life here in your corner of the world and there is nothing to do because we just have a small Grocery Store, Post Office and General Store.

Kids still play here with each other, and go bicycling in the fields and around the neighborhood. (Granted it is one neighborhood). They play in the park together and the couples walk at sundown together after work, which makes it quite romantic for a non romance orientated person.

I quickly started my own romance of sorts with this little dorpie. The natural fauna and flaura here grow' where it pleases. With so many different plants growing wild I was in heaven. It was on one of these heavenly walks I saw lavender under a huge tree and just had to get some. My son and I initially did not see what was right in front of us, too busy discussing life and stuff to focus what is going on around us.

Bushes full of Ladybugs. The more we looked the more we saw and the further the masses went wherever you looked. It was beyond belief what my eyes saw. My kid was ecstatic and beyond. We had so much fun that day, in the street in front of strangers house (which later became friends).

That was they day I knew I was home again. Losing everything is not easy, in fact its the worst feeling knowing you are destitute. For a personality like mine being a home body and so private it was one of the top ways to try and ruin me, as well as show me how much you dispise me and want me to humiliate myself for just a roof over my head.

When spring came I had my new tenants - Ladybird family moved in. The folk lore is very vocal that the Ladybird is a very good omen and good fortune will befall you for many years. I can share my good fortune with anyone that needs a bit of magic back in their lives..
